Service Manager - Pool Service Division

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Service Manager, you will lead and develop a dynamic team of technicians and mechanics, scheduling appointments, conducting performance reviews, sales and fostering adherence to company standards. You will ensure impeccable service quality and safety across all aspects of swimming pool maintenance, repairs, and servicing while maintaining compliance with Tortorella standards and industry regulations. Building strong client relationships, addressing inquiries promptly, collaborating on upsell opportunities, managing inventory levels, assisting with budget development, and maintaining accountability among the staff will be key facets of your role, contributing to the division's excellence and cost-effective operations. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Team Leadership: 

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of technicians and mechanics, ensuring their professional development and adherence to company standards. 

  • Schedule and coordinate appointments and dispatch technicians/mechanics efficiently. 

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. 

  • Hold the team accountable. 

  • Build and foster Field Leaders to help address the company’s growth.  

Service Quality Assurance:  

  • Ensure adherence to rigorous standards of service quality and safety. Proactively identify equipment requiring replacement and provide client education to enhance sales and revenue generation. 

  • Oversee all aspects of swimming pool maintenance, repairs, and servicing.  

  • Ensure compliance with all Tortorella standards, industry regulations and safety guidelines, inclusive of fleet safety.  Works in collaboration with Training Department  

Customer Relations: 

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing exceptional service. 

  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally. 

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities. 

Inventory Management: 

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure timely completion of signed contracts. 

  • Work closely with procurement to ensure adequate stock of essential parts and equipment. 

Budget and Cost Control: 

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets for the service division. 

  • Monitor and control expenses, ensuring the division operates within budgetary constraints. 

Reporting and Documentation: 

  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work orders, and maintenance schedules in Tortorella's operating systems, inclusive of Pool Brain and Hubspot.  Works closely with Heating Manager. 

  • Prepare regular reports on service performances and key metrics. 

   Vehicle Safety and Maintenance:  

  • Collaborate with the Fleet Department and enforce regular inspections of company vehicles to identify issues and ensure they are in safe working condition. 

  • Ensure routine maintenance on company vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and other necessary tasks are being completed in accordance with company expectations. 

Experience:  2+ years with pool service and maintenance experience and 2+ years in supervisory/management position required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:  Minimum Associates Degree
Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook

Other Requirements: Strong written and verbal communication skills

Work Schedule: 

  • Full-Time
  • Monday thru Saturday, rotating on call coverage in season
